Add Segment - Quotas by Segment
Quotas are used to limit the total number of responses to a survey. In addition to a total quota, segment quotas can be set to let you manage the number of respondents to the survey, by segment or respondent groups.
Segments or groups can be created by first creating a segment name and then creating a condition by which people are assigned to that segment. Once segments have been created, quotas can be set for each segment.
Respondents will be screened out from a survey if they are assigned to a segment that has reached the quota. Any segments that have been created for a survey will automatically appear listed in the quotas section (for more information see Set / Update Quotas).
- To create segments, click on the orange [Segment] button.
- The following branch logic box will appear, similar to that below
- To create a new segment name, type it in to the relevant text box.
- To assign respondents into the segment you must enter an appropriate condition. Click on the option icon on the far right-hand side of the element you want to edit and Options with an optional tick box will appear below
- Select the tick box [Display Condition]
- A field will appear, similar to that below, into which you need to enter the condition for assignment e.g. if someone answers 'x' then assign to this segment.
→ Note: The condition will need to be written as an 'expression'. For details on how to write an expression with the appropriate syntax, go to the section Expressions.
